Summer 2021 is here and for many Americans across the country, that means one reality: it’s time to party. And thanks to summer temperatures across the country, that partying is taking place in the great outdoors. Enjoying time outside with family and friends is music to our ears! With over 250 rental items and nearly 500 types of products and services, you could spend maybe every summer of the rest of your life with our current inventory and never get bored. But more on our inventory (and a summer centerpiece that is the inflatable water slide) a little later. We want to take an extended look at two pivotal possibilities for one of America’s greatest holidays: the 4th of July.
What just came to your mind? Right when we mentioned that date—what feelings and sensations flooded your brain? Of course there are the staple moments and memories: grilling out, fireworks, pool parties, going to the park, and mowing the lawn. (Hey, it’s a tradition for some dads out there.) In our eyes, the most beautiful blend of those moments is bound in the ever-glorious neighborhood block party. Unfortunately, the neighborhood block party isn’t as prevalent in this modern era. But who says it has to stay that way?
The following post is our attempt to revive the neighborhood block party. How are we going to do that? Well, with a little of our expertise and some necessary help from you! For starters, we want to highlight one of our most popular items, the inflatable water slide, and how this one inflatable creation will make for a summer of endless elation. Then we’ll discuss a few more items to bring to your neighborhood block party, a block party checklist, and an important call to action.
An Inflatable Water Slide to Remember
But seriously. Nobody slides down an inflatable water slide over and over only to forget about the experience a few months or years down the line. To climb up and slip around in the process. To reach the summit and peer out across your neighborhood lawns—for a moment you’re the king of Waterworld. And then you lean forward and breeze down the safe and inflatable water slide that has put smiles on our customers’ faces for dozens of years. It’s time you join the club.
Earlier in the post, when we referred to the inflatable water slide as a summer centerpiece, we meant it quite literally for a block party and beyond. If you have a group of friends who want to host a party or gather some friends on the 4th of July, the first question is an inevitable “Who wants to host?”
It’s a fair question. And if you’re reading these words right now, we hope you take this post as a sign—a sign that you were meant to host 4th of July in 2021 and make it the most epic neighborhood block party of all. Think we’re wrong? Think you’re not the person for the task? Whether you’re ready to dive in or kind of on the fence, here’s a simple remedy: book your inflatable water slide today, and in an instant you’re the American hero your neighborhood deserves.
It’s giant. It’s inflatable. It’s slippery. It’s foolproof.
A Few Alternatives and a Block Party Checklist
We don’t use those words lightly about the inflatable water slide—we know that it’s one of our inflatables you can build a party around. But if you want to get a couple other games or attractions in the mix, or if you try to book one of our inflatable water slides and they’ve all been reserved (they get booked quick this time of year) then we have a few other high quality options for your 4th of July block party. Consider any of the following, and contact us today if you have any questions or want to reserve ASAP!
- Inflatable Bounce House + Sports Combo
- Disney Cars Combo
- Moonwalks
- Hot Shotz Basketball
- A Dunk Tank!
- And what says American fun quite like Racing Toilets?!
OK, so that last one is a bit of a wacky alternative, but we know how much individuals love those things! Like we mentioned before, we have hundreds of more options. Those are just a few ideas to get you brainstorming. Let’s move onto a more logistical next step.
In short, many people like the thought of a neighborhood block party as opposed to actually making it happen. Fun Services Midwest is all about ACTION. We like coming up with ideas, but we love making (most) of those ideas a reality. Therefore, here are a few practical steps to take once you’re done reading and ready to start doing.
- #1 is without a doubt to RESERVE your favorite inflatable on our site—inflatable water slide or otherwise.
- Then start brainstorming a guest list.
- Write down 30-50 potential guests—including your nextdoor neighbors!
- Create a flyer using a popular design website: Canva.
- Save the paper! Just download the flier to your phone and send to your guest list via text or email.
- Consider resending that flier at least three to four times before the 4th of July. Some people just need you to be persistent.
- Once you get some RSVP’s start assigning roles ASAP. Giving your guests responsibilities (bringing food or other fun and games) will give them a sense of buy-in.
- If your guests buy in, chances are they’ll invite some of their friends!
The Day Of Your Neighborhood Block Party
We wanted to release this post in June for a reason—you still have time to make all the above happen. You can do it! Again, most people don’t step up to the plate to make something like a block party happen, but Fun Services Midwest believes in you.
Give us a call ASAP and let us know if there’s anything else we can do to make your party a blast. One of our goals is to help you, friends, and family make memories that last a lifetime. We don’t want to miss this momentous holiday in July, and we hope you don’t either. Life is too short to sit on the sidelines—to simply go to another firework show this year. Instead, give us a call. Write down that guest list. Design the flyer. Send out the invitations, and put on your bathing suit.
Even if only three people respond and you guys have the inflatable water slide all to yourselves . . . Well, that still sounds like a heck of a neighborhood block party to us.
