Field Days: Something Fun for Everyone!

The highlight of the end of the school year — aside from summer vacation, of course! — is Field Day! Field Day is a popular end-of-the-year tradition held by many schools (especially elementary schools!) when kids get the day off from classes and spend the day out on the soccer or football field playing games, being active, and celebrating the conclusion of a fantastic year!

Of course, no Field Day is complete without a colorful variety of exciting, engaging activities and games to keep kids, faculty, staff, and parents having fun throughout the day. Discover some fun Field Day activities as you plan your own Field Day, all designed to make sure it’s a Field Day to remember:

Competitive Activities

Field Day is the perfect time to embrace friendly competition! And we have plenty of ideas to motivate kids to take on the challenge! Check them out:

1. Obstacle Courses

Inflatable obstacle courses are a safe, fun, and easy option for a competitive game that doesn’t require intensive planning or execution. All you need is a teacher or volunteer supervising, to tell kids when the race to the finish begins!

Our new Level Up Obstacle Course is the perfect gamer-themed inflatable for kids looking forward to all the fun and games of the coming summer break!

2. Bungee Run

As an alternative to obstacle courses, the bungee run is a fun way to challenge kids to push themselves to the limit. This three-lane bungee run lets up to three people compete at once, seeing who can run the furthest before the bungee pulls them back to the start!

3. Kid-Friendly Axe Throwing

Axe throwing has become increasingly popular in the last few years as a date night activity, but why not let the youngsters get in on the action too? Our inflatable axe-throwing game removes all the danger of a real axe, but keeps all the fun! How? It uses velcro instead of sharp blades to connect the soft axes to the inflatable target!

4. Basketball Shoot-Off

Rather than trying to coordinate a whole basketball game during Field Day, opt for a couple of basketball shoot-off booths where anyone can participate and try to make as many shots as they can! Our Shooting Stars game is a fan favorite.

Team Sports

If your school is a smaller one, or you’re up for a little more coordination, having a team sport activity taking place throughout the day can help teach kids teamwork skills in a unique way! Here are some wacky alternatives to having a traditional sporting match:

5. Bubble Soccer

Bubble soccer is hilarious to watch and an absolute ball to play! With six “bubbles,” an arena, and a soccer ball included, this bubble soccer rental is great for quick 3-on-3 games, making it easy to rotate in and out so everyone gets a turn.

6. Human Foosball

If you’ve ever played foosball before, you’re going to love this one! Our human foosball game turns players into the people on the foosball table, giving the competition a unique and funny twist.

Creative Art

Part of the fun of Field Day is that there’s something for everyone. Make sure Field Day is a memorable day for students who are a little less competitive and a little more crafty. Whether they create it themselves or receive art from one of our professional entertainers, here are a few ideas to incorporate creativity into your Field Day:

7. Frisbee Art

With this frisbee art maker, kids can take home a custom frisbee for hours of fun at the park this summer! Contact us to learn more about this rental and make sure you get enough supplies for everyone.

8. Wax Hands

Did you ever enjoy playing with the candle wax at a candle lighting service growing up? Well here’s your chance to do it again, but in a safe manner that won’t burn your hands and will give you a unique art piece! Help students make interesting wax hand sculptures using a variety of warm waxes to dip their hands in and see what they can create with the Wax Hands station!

9. Hire an Artist

For less mess and more professional skill, we have several talented artists ready to give your students a fun art piece or body art experience to take home after Field Day ends. Here are four of our popular entertainers who are pros at creating original and fun art:

Just for Fun

If you’re looking for one or two more fun activities to round out your Field Day, here are a few bonus ideas that might be just what you’re looking for:

10. Inflatable Slide

The fun that keeps on going! Students of all ages will love sliding down our new Bahama Mama Slide again and again. Bonus: If you opt to have your students wear swimsuits and fill Field Day with water-based activities, this slide can be turned into a waterslide too!

11. Bounce House or Crawlthrough

Nothing says Field Day like a classic inflatable, whether it’s our Life is Good Bounce House or the Floor is Lava Crawlthrough. If neither of those strike your fancy, no worries! We have a whole catalogue of fun-tastic inflatables to match any theme and Field Day layout.

12. Rock Wall

Challenge your students to reach new heights with a rock wall! This Field Day must-have is physically engaging to keep students active and pushing themselves to be better and faster and stronger!
